Part of a group of copy negatives taken for November 29, 1961, Arkansas Gazette article "Musical Family Looks Back at Old Days on the River," B1:2. W.G. (Win) Bean (2186-11, 2186-22, 2186-29) of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas (82 years old when this article was written) and various members of his family spent 15 years living and working on the Red, Mississippi and Arkansas Rivers. In addition to being a musician, Bean was the captain of the houseboat "Idler" (2186-09, 2186-16). Deane took a series of copy negatives of photographs in Bean's scrapbook. Win and Art Bean started Bean Music Company in Little Rock, Arkansas.
